Marriage

We went to a marriage conference and would recommend going to them any chance you get. You're just reminded of what you should being doing as a spouse. It's wonderful. We've only been married a few months, and when you tell people that you've only been married that short amount of time, people get excited like they do when you're engaged...it's very exciting. During the conference we split up into men and women. On the women's end they kept talking about marriages that had problems and how to work through them all. It was very deep and emotional. The whole time I (alisa) kept thinking we have a great marriage, so yikes I feel bad for the struggling marriages. The speaker said to get together and pray with the person next to you. So I prayed with a woman named Alex. She was all serious and asked how things are going. I felt so awkward, then proceeded to tell her that I'm very happily married. She asked how long we've been married and I told her 5 months. She says "Oh, the honeymoon stage." Then she says "Well that's great, I've been married for 9 years and my husband and I are still in the honeymoon stage. You don't ever have to leave that stage. People tell you that it changes, but if you don't lower your expectations it won't." We had amazing speakers the whole weekend and just those few sentences that Alex said was what I needed to take away from that whole conference. It was just really good. We would recommend that everyone go to one. Even if you think you have the best marriage in the whole world, it just helps you grow closer with your spouse.
We have some helpful tips what you should do with your spouse everyday!

1. Start with a kiss
2. Wear your wedding ring
3. Look your best for them
4. Be kind
5. Smile at them
6. Say "I love you"
7. Give them a compliment
8. Listen to their opinion
9. Thank them for being your spouse
10. Do something they'd like to do
11. Pray for them
12. End with a hug.

All of that sounds very simply, but you'd be surprised when you do them intentionally how much of them you don't actually do. Marriage is amazing. A+++
Love you all.

Why Pennies??

So you may be asking yourself, why on earth did they pick pennies? Well, where to start :P I, Alisa, was curious what my new last name meant. I came to find that one of the meanings is copper. After thinking about the fact that my husband, Dallas, collects pennies AND, what are pennies made out of? That's right...COPPER :D how clever is that? Hehe. Now lets move on the DAB... Dallas, Alisa and well, our last name. Which I'm not saying because if you don't know what it is get out of here creeper. Okay, now back to family and friends. We thought it was rather cute (well mostly me and Dallas went along with it, good husband) :) However, he picked out the backdrop, so heck yes. Hehe. Hmm, really this is new to us so bare with us if you can, thanks.

Here we go

We've created a blog site. I'm sure that we'll blog very little. At least for now. :)
